50 Years and 3 Generations

August 1963: Metro A & H Agency was founded by Len Gardner to provide Massachusetts Casualty disability income insurance products to insurance agents.

April 1969: Karen and Lorraine's first General Agents meeting at the Eden Rock Hotel in Florida.

September 1981: Karen Gardner joined Metro Agency as a brokerage manager.
August 1986: Karen and Len partnered up to become the first father daughter Co-General Agents for Massachusetts Casualty.
1996: Lorraine Skoglund joined Metro Agency.
1990-1999: Metro was the number one agency for Massachusetts Casualty.


October 1998: Metro became a General Agent for Principal Financial Group.
January 31, 1999: Massachusetts Casualty sold their block of business to DMS, ending a 36 year relationship.
March 1999: Metro began working with Berkshire Life, which was acquired by Guardian Life two years later.
October 2000: Metro became a General Agency representing Union Central, which is now known as Ameritas.
December 2005: Metro added Assurity Life to our family of disability income insurance providers.
July 2009: Jordan Albala joined Metro as a brokerage manager.
October 2010: We changed our name and image. Metro A & H Agency Inc. started doing business as MetroDI.
January 2010: Christopher Leppard joined our MetroDI team.

September 2010: We added MetLife products to our portfolio.

July 2011: Matthew Albala started his career at MetroDI.
October 2011: The Standard made their move into New York and appointed us as their newest General Agent.
April 2013: First Annual MetroDI Forum.
